About Akshay Mahajan, Photojournalist
Akshay (b 1985) has traveled to some of the most dangerous and unlikely corners of South Asia. His work has taken him face to face with members of the Mumbai land mafia, helped him gauge the entrepreneurial spirit of one of Asia's largest slums, Dharavi, onto the sets of Bollywood films, on the trail of the Microfinance dollar in Rajasthan, across North India and Nepal in an all out auto-rickshaw race, and to Asia's largest Garbage dump in Cambodia that reduce waste to gold at the cost of the people who work there and the envirnoment. India and travel continue to be the inspiration for his work.
